Danie van Zyl
Tennis Court Resurfacing Specialist
From his earliest days on the court at age seven, Danie’s life has been defined by tennis. One of his fondest memories as a junior was winning the South African Nike Junior Masters and representing South Africa as #1 at the Nike World Masters. He also proudly represented his country as #2 in Egypt, France, Slovakia, and Bratislava, experiences that shaped his competitive spirit and deep love for the game. As the Tennis Director at 40 Love Tennis Academy (2015–2021), Danie oversaw remarkable growth—expanding the academy from 2 coaches and 50 students to 8 coaches and 285 students. His leadership and vision built a thriving community of players and coaches, leaving a lasting legacy in South African tennis development. In 2025, Danie made history as the American Express National Club Champion, leading Wembley Tennis Club to victory in Sun City—the first club from the Eastern Cape to ever claim this prestigious national title. This milestone cemented his reputation as both a leader and a trailblazer in South African tennis. Danie believes that “life is like riding a bicycle—without moving forward, it’s hard to maintain your balance.” This philosophy drives his passion for excellence, both on and off the court. Starting his coaching career at just 16, he has become obsessed with building the best tennis courts South Africa has to offer. His lifelong connection to the sport gives him a unique edge in understanding exactly what a quality court should look and feel like. Today, Danie channels his competitive spirit, coaching expertise, and relentless pursuit of perfection into tennis court resurfacing, ensuring that every surface he works on reflects the same standard of excellence that defined his playing career.
De Wet Buys
Tennis Court Specialist
De Wet comes from a true tennis court specialist family, growing up alongside his mom and dad and learning from a very young age the ins and outs of the resurfacing world. This upbringing gave him a keen eye for detail and a passion that shines through in the quality of the courts he helps build and resurface. Having been on a tennis court for as long as he can remember, De Wet—now an experienced “ballie”—knows exactly how a court should look and feel. As a coach, De Wet has developed multiple juniors who went on to achieve South African junior colours, a testament to his ability to study the game and elevate his students to new levels. He believes in the power of vision to push you to new heights: “If you can see it, you can achieve it.” His coaching style blends technical expertise with inspiration, ensuring tennis remains both a pursuit of excellence and a lifelong joy. For De Wet, tennis is more than a sport—it’s a passion that runs deep. “When I think of tennis, it makes me feel like the first time I saw my wife. The excitement is real. I live for tennis.” His favourite Grand Slam is the French Open, which he loves for the quality of matches and the vibrant colours it brings out of the players’ wardrobes. Today, De Wet channels his lifelong love for tennis into both coaching and court resurfacing, combining his technical knowledge, family legacy, and personal passion to deliver courts of the highest standard across South Africa.
